Information about Freemasonry Information on Joining |
![]() |
A common misconception among the general public is that Freemasonry "recruits" potential members and invites those who are "approved of" if they would like to join. In fact the opposite is the case! While we will happily tell people about our society, we do not explicitly invite or recruit new members.
Anyone who is interested in joining needs to ask ..... you can ask a friend whom you know to be a Freemason, or if you don't know any Freemasons, then you can contact the Grand Lodge in London on 020 7831 9811.
As has been explained in English Freemasonry today, English lodges outside London are organized into Provinces and Districts etc.. As an alternative to contacting our head office in London, you can contact the Provincial or District office that covers your area. Please go to the web site of the United Grand Lodge of England to find the contact details for these offices.
If you are a Old Olavian, or a member
of staff or other employee at the School, or a relative of of any of
these, then (provided you are a man and meet the other membership
criteria) you would be a preferred member of the Old Olavians Lodge - should
you wish to apply please contact our Secretary Graham Milne by e-mail
or by phone on 07810 201818.
